योग्य स्थानमें लौकिक अमिको रखकर उसमें शास्त्रों में बताये हुए द्रव्योंका हवनकर संस्कार करना सो औपासन अमि है । भावार्थ-कुंडमै अथवा मिट्टीके चौकोन चबूतरेपर लौकिक अमिको "स्थापन करें, उसमें शास्त्रों में बताये हुए द्रव्योंका हवन करें। ऐसा करनेसे लौकिक अमि औपासन '. अमि हो जाती है ॥ १३१ ॥
संतापानि । दभैंर्दभैरिति पञ्चकृत्वा सन्तापयेत्ततः ।
काष्ठौधैर्बोधितो वन्हिः सन्तापाग्निरितीरितः ॥ १३२ ॥ प्रथम अमिको पांच वार दर्भ डालं डालकर संतापित करे, अनन्तर उसे लकड़ियों में लगाकर प्रज्वलित करे; इसीको संतापानि कहते हैं ॥ १३२ ॥
