सोमसेनभट्टारकविरचित___उस जमीनमें एक हाथ, गहरा और एक हाथ चौड़ा एक गढ़ा खोदे और उसी मिट्टी से उस गढको भरदे। यदि वह मिट्टी उस गढ़ेके भर जानेपर गढ़ेसे उंची रह जाय तो जमीन को उत्तम समझे, यदि मिट्टी गढ़ेके बराबर हो तो मध्यम और गढ़ेसे नीची रह जाय तो जघन्य समझे ॥९॥ . . . .

जमीनको भली बुरी जाननेका दूसरा उपाय यह है कि सूर्यास्त हो जानेपर जब कुछकुछ अन्धेरा छा जाय तब थोड़ीसी जमीनके चारों और परकोटेके मानिन्द चटाई बांध दे जिससे उसमें हवा का प्रवेश न हो सके । बाद उस जमीनपर “ॐ हूँ फद यह अस्त्र मंत्र लिखे उसके ऊपर एक मिट्टीका कच्चा घड़ा रख कर उस घड़ेपर एक कच्चा मिट्टीका दिया रख दे. उस दियेको धीसे लबालब भरदे, और उसमें पूर्व दिशामें सफेद, दक्षिण दिशामें लाल, पश्चिम दिशामें पीली और उत्तर दिशामें काली बत्ती धरकर सब बत्तियोंको जलावे और उन्हें अनादि सिद्धमंत्रके द्वारा मंत्रित करदे । यदि घृत निबटने तक वे बत्तियां साफ जलती रहें तो जमीनको शुभ समझे और यदि बुझती हुई मालूम पड़ें तो अशुभ समझे ॥१०॥११॥१२॥ " ॐ हूँ फट् ” यह अस्त्र मंत्र है । ॐणमो इत्यादि अनादि मंत्र है ।
