24 Ling Navaghna; his viotory over Sindhupati; the defeat of Arnorāja and the unethical invasions by Jayasimha and Kumārapāla are omitted by Hemcandra. Similarly some unethical activities of cxtra-ordinary heros are omitted There are a number of religious and architectural omissions on the part of Hemacandra.
Notwithstanding all these omissions he had to change a number of his facts and figures to fit in the characteristics of a mahākāvya. It consists of the exaggerative style of expression, belief in divinity, introduction of mythological characters and the change in a number of names of the characters which may serve his illustrative purpose
With this introduction of the poem, I am very happy that this work is being published by the Jurn Muniśrī Munichandra Vijaya who has a gen. ume interest in restoring the Jain cultural heritage through the publication of this work of the doyne of Jainism. This work has not only a serious scope of grammatical study but also the vast storehouse of cultural material which has a need to be interpreted again particularly in the light of conteinporary sources.
