वना और इतिहास अपने वर्तमान रूपमें पाठकोंके सामने उपस्थित हो सकते, इसमें संदेह ही है । और इसी लिये हम इनके लिखे जानेका खास श्रेय प्रेमीजीको ही देते हैं । आपकी प्रेरणाको पाकर हम स्वामी समन्तभद जैसे महान् पुरुषोंका पवित्र इतिहास लिखने और उनके ग्रंथादिकोंके विषयमें अपने कुछ विचारोंको प्रकट करने में समर्थ हो सके हैं, यही हमारे लिये आनंदका खास विषय है और इसके वास्ते हम प्रेमीजीके विशेष रूपसे आभारी हैं। इस अवसर पर देहलीके सुप्रसिद्ध अनुभवी राजवैद्य पं० शीतलप्रसादजीका धन्यवाद किये बिना भी हम नहीं रह सकते, जिन्होंने बड़े प्रेमके साथ हमें अपने पास रखकर निःस्वार्थ भावसे हमारी चिकित्सा की और जिनकी सच्चिकित्साके प्रतापसे हम अपनी खोई हुई शक्तिको पुनः प्राप्त करनेमें बहुत कुछ समर्थ हो सके हैं, और उसीका प्रथम फल यह कार्य है । इसमें संदेह नहीं कि हमारी वजहसे ग्रंथके शीघ्र प्रकाशित न हो सकनेके कारण कुछ, विद्वानों को प्रतीक्षा. जन्य कष्ट जरूर उठाना पड़ा है, जिसका हमें स्वयं खेद है और इसलिये हम उनसे उसके लिये क्षमा चाहते हैं। इसके सिवाय अनुसंधान-प्रिय विद्वानोंसे हमारा यह भी निवेदन है कि इस प्रस्तावनादिके लिखने में यदि हमसे कहीं कुछ भूल हुई हो तो उसे वे प्रमाणसहित हमें लिख भेजनेका कष्ट जरूर उठाएँ । इत्यलम् । सरसावा, जि-सहारनपुर ) ता० १७-२-१९२५
