यथार्थे अयमर्थो रुधिरं यथा मलिनमपवित्रं च वारि कर्तृ निर्मलं पवित्रं च धावते प्रक्षालयति तथा दानं पापं विमार्ष्टि ॥ २४ ॥
साम्प्रतं नवप्रकारेषु प्रतिग्रहादिषु क्रियमाणेषु कस्मात् किं फलं
सम्पद्यत इत्याह :

उच्चैर्गोत्रं प्रणतेर्भोगो दानादुपासनात्पूजा ।
भक्तेः सुन्दररूपं स्तवनात्कीर्तिस्तपोनिधिषु ॥ २५ ॥ तपोनिधिषु यतिषु । प्रणतेः प्रणामकरणादुच्चैर्गोत्रं भवति । तथा दानाद्दर्शनशुद्धिलक्षणाद्भोगो भवति । उपासनात् प्रतिग्रहणादिरूपात् सर्वत्र पूजा भवति । भक्तेर्गुणानुरागजनितान्तः श्रद्धाविशेषलक्षणायाः सुन्दररूपं भवति । स्तवनात् श्रुतजलधीत्यादिस्तुतिविधानात् सर्वत्र कीर्तिर्भवति ॥ २५ ॥
नन्वेवंविधं विशिष्टं फलं स्वल्पं दानं कथं सम्पादयतीत्याशंकाऽपनोदार्थमाहः-
शरीरभृतां
क्षितिगतमिव वटवीजं पात्रगतं दानमल्पमपि काले । फलतिच्छायाविभवं बहुफलमिष्टं शरीरभृताम् ॥ २६ ॥ अल्पमपि दानमुचितकाले पात्रगतं सत्पात्रे दत्तं संसारिणामिष्टं फलं बह्वनेक प्रकार सुंदररूपं भोगोपभोगादिलक्षणं फलति । कथंभूतं ? छायाविभवं छाया माहात्म्यं विभवं सम्पत् तौ विद्यते यत्र । अस्यैवार्थस्य समर्थनार्थ क्षितीत्यादिदृष्टान्तमाह-- क्षितिगतं सुक्षेत्रे निक्षिप्तं यथा अल्पमपि वटबीजं बहुफलं फलति । कथं ? छायाविभवं 1 छाया आतपनिरोधिनी तस्या विभवः प्राचुर्ये यथा भवत्येवं फलति ॥ २६ ॥ तच्चैवंविधफलसम्पादकं दानं चतुर्भेदं भवतीत्याहः -- आहारौषधयोरप्युपकरणावासयोश्च दानेन ।
वैयावृत्त्यं ब्रुवते चतुरात्मत्वेन चतुरस्राः || २७ ॥
