जयकोलाहलके साथ प्रकट हुई । यह देखकर राजादिकको बड़ा आश्चर्य हुआ और राजाने उसी समय समन्तभद्रसे पूछा-हे योगीन्द्र, आप महा सामर्थ्यवान् अव्यक्तलिंगी कौन हैं ? इसके उत्तरमें समन्तभद्रने नीचे लिखे दो काव्य कहे
कांच्यां ननाटकोऽहं मलमलिनतनुर्लाम्बुशे पाण्डुपिंडः पुण्ड्रोण्ड्रे (?) शाक्यभिक्षुर्दशपुरनगरे मृष्टभोजी परिव्राट् । वाराणस्यामभूवं शशिधरधवलः पाण्डुरांगस्तपस्वी, राजन् यस्यास्ति शक्तिः सं वदतु पुरतो जैननिग्रंथवादी ॥ पूर्व पाटलिपुत्रमध्यनगरे मेरी मया ताडिता, पश्चान्मालवसिन्धुठक्कविषये कांचीपुरे वैदिशे । प्राप्तोऽहं करहाटकं बहुभटं विद्योत्कटं संकटं, वादार्थी विचाराम्यहं नरपते शार्दूलविक्रीडितम् ॥
इसके बाद समन्तभद्रने कुलिंगिवेष छोड़कर जैननिग्रंथ लिंग धारण किया और संपूर्ण एकान्तवादियोंको वादमें जीतकर जैनशासनकी प्रभावना की । यह सब देखकर राजाको जैनधर्ममें श्रद्धा हो गई, वैराग्य हो आया और राज्य छोड़कर उसने जिनदीक्षा धारण कर ली ।"
