स्वामी समन्तभद्र ।
पूछा। उत्तर में योगिराजने यह कह दिया कि ' तुम्हारा यह रागी द्वेषी देव मेरे नमस्कारको सहन नहीं कर सकता। मेरे नमस्कार को सहन करनेके लिये वे जिनसूर्य ही समर्थ हैं जो अठारह दोषों से रहित हैं और केवल - ज्ञानरूपी सत्तेजसे लोकालोकके प्रकाशक हैं । यदि मैंने नमस्कार किया तो तुम्हारा यह देव (शिवलिंग) विदीर्ण हो जायगा — खंड खंड हो जायगा -- इसीसे मैं नमस्कार नहीं करता हूँ ' । इस पर राजाका कौतुक बढ़ गया और उसने नमस्कार के लिये आग्रह करते हुए, कहा - ' यदि यह देव खंड खंड हो जायगा तो हो जाने दीजिये, मुझे तुम्हारे नमस्कारके सामर्थ्यको जरूर देखना है । समंतभद्रने इसे स्वीकार किया और अगले दिन अपने सामर्थ्यको दिखलाने का वादा किया। राजाने 'एवमस्तु ' कह कर उन्हें मंदिर में रक्खा और बाहर से चौकी पहरेका पूरा इन्तजाम कर दिया । दो पहर रात बीतने पर समंतभद्रको अपने वचन - निर्वाहकी चिन्ता हुई, उससे अम्बिकादेवीका आसन डोल गया । वह दौड़ी हुई आई, आकर उसने समंतभद्रको आश्वासन दिया और यह कह कर चली गई कि तुम " स्वयंभुवा भूतहितेन भूतले " इस पदसे प्रारंभ करके चतुर्विंशति तीर्थकरों की उन्नत स्तुति रचो, उसके प्रभावसे सब काम शीघ्र हो जायगा और यह कुलिंग टूट जायगा । समंतभद्रको इस दिव्यदर्शन से प्रसन्नता हुई और वे निर्दिष्ट स्तुतिको रचकर सुखसे स्थित हो गये । सवेरे ( प्रभातसमय ) राजा आया और उसने वही नमस्कारद्वारा सामर्थ्य दिखलाने की बात कही । इस पर समन्तभद्रने अपनी उस महास्तुतिको पढ़ना प्रारंभ किया । जिमवक्त ' चंद्रप्रभ' भगवानकी स्तुति करते हुए ' तमस्तमोरेरिव रश्मिभिन्नं ' यह वाक्य पढ़ा गया उसी वक्त वह 'शिवलिंग' खण्ड खण्ड हो गया और उस स्थान से 'चंद्रप्रभ' भगवानकी चतुर्मुखी प्रतिमा महान्

When he read the verse 'Tamstamore Riv Rashmibhinnam' while praising Chandraprabha Bhagwan, the shivalinga shattered into pieces and a four-faced image of Chandraprabha Bhagwan appeared in that place.
