Kasaya Pahuda Sutta
[15. Charitra-moha-ksapanaadhikara]
According to the verse-composer, the following should be observed:
1. The karmas bound in the tiryag-gati (animal realm) are accumulated by the soul who ascends the ksapaka-sreni (stage of annihilation of karmas) after being born in the human realm from the tiryag-gati.
2. The karmas bound in the tiryag-gati are also accumulated by the soul who, after wandering in the remaining realms of hell and celestial beings for a period of sagaropama-sata-prthaktva-kala, ascends the ksapaka-sreni.
3. The karmas acquired in the celestial and infernal realms are to be 'bhajitavya' (to be endured) for the krsti-vedaka-ksapaka (the ascetic who has realized the nature of the self).
4. However, the karmas acquired in the celestial and infernal realms are not 'bhajitavya' for the soul who, after being born in the celestial or infernal realms, is born in the tiryag or human realms and then ascends the ksapaka-sreni, as the possibility of the accumulation of those karmas no longer exists after the expiry of the karma-sthiti-pramana (duration of karmic bondage) period.
5. The karmas acquired in the celestial and infernal realms are 'bhajitavya' for the soul who, after being born in the celestial or infernal realms and spending some time there, is then born in the tiryag realm, where the previously acquired celestial and infernal karmas are destroyed before the soul ascends the ksapaka-sreni.
6. The discussion on the existence or non-existence of previously bound karmas should also be considered with respect to the sense organs (indriya) and the body (kaya).
7. Among the trasakayi (mobile) beings, the previously bound karmas are 'bhajitavya' for the dvindriyas (two-sensed), trindriyas (three-sensed), caturindriyas (four-sensed), asamjni-pancendriyas (non-conscious five-sensed), and labdhyaparyaptaka-samjni-pancendriyas (partially developed five-sensed), but not for the samjni-pancendriyas (conscious five-sensed) beings.
