There are twelve, nine, six, and three Kṛṣṭis due to the Kasayas of burning anger, etc., or there are infinite Kṛṣṭis. In each Kasaya, there are three Kṛṣṭis, or there are infinite Kṛṣṭis. ||163||.
The commentary verse is explained as follows: If the series of Kṣapaka ascends with the rise of the Kasaya of anger, then there are twelve Sangraha Kṛṣṭis. The being who ascends the series of Kṣapaka with the rise of the Kasaya of pride has nine Sangraha Kṛṣṭis. The being who is present with the rise of the Kasaya of Maya has six Sangraha Kṛṣṭis, and the being who is present with the rise of the Kasaya of greed has three Sangraha Kṛṣṭis. Thus, this is the meaning of the first line of the commentary verse, "twelve, nine, six, three." The components or internal Kṛṣṭis of each Sangraha Kṛṣṭi are infinite, therefore, the verse says, "or there are infinite." Thus, the meaning of the first question of the original verse, "how many Kṛṣṭis are there?" is finished. Now, the meaning of the second line of the original verse, "how many Kṛṣṭis are there in each Kasaya?" is explained. In each Kasaya, there are three Sangraha Kṛṣṭis, therefore, the commentary verse says, "three, three." The infinite components of each Sangraha Kṛṣṭi are infinite, therefore, the commentary verse says, "or there are infinite." ||705-715||.
The commentary verse says that there is a commentary verse for the third question raised by the original verse, "what is the cause of the state of Kṛṣṭi?" The explanation of that is given. ||716-717||.
