## Verse 129: Description of the State of Being (Sthiti-sattva) in Transition (Samkrama)
**(75)** Now, just as the vulture's karma is destroyed, and the karma of the creeper (Payala-Payala) is destroyed, so too are the thirteen types of name-karma (Nama-karma) related to hell (Niryaya) and the animal realm (Tiryag-yana), including the karma of "Sanchhohana" (accumulation), destroyed. **(128)** **(269)** Similarly, the eight middle karmas (Madhyama-kashaya) are also destroyed beforehand. It should be understood that these eight middle karmas are destroyed by the "Samkrama" (transition) before the destruction of the sixteen types of karma mentioned above.
**(76)** When the six minor karmas (No-kashaya) like laughter (Hasya) become "Samkrama" (transitional) with the eternal being (Chirantana-sattva) of the human being (Purusha-veda), then, by rule, the three non-destructive karmas (Aghatiya-karma) - name (Nama), lineage (Gotra), and object of experience (Vedaniya) - remain active in their respective states of being (Sthiti-sattva) for an immeasurable number of years (Asankhyeya-vassa). The remaining four destructive karmas (Ghatiya-karma) - knowledge-obscuring (Jnana-avaran), etc. - remain active in their respective states of being for a countable number of years (Sankhyeya-vassa). **(129)**
**(270)** This verse describes the measure of the state of being (Sthiti-sattva) at the time when the six karmas like laughter (Hasya) first become "Samkrama" (transitional). At that time, the state of being of the three non-destructive karmas (Aghatiya-karma) without delusion (Moha) is for an immeasurable number of years (Asankhyeya-vassa), and the state of being of the destructive karmas (Ghatiya-karma) is for a countable number of years (Sankhyeya-vassa).
