## Chapter 123: Detailed Explanation of the Special Actions that Quell the Attachment to Conduct
**63** **Se** **Se** **Nikkhevo**
**53.** These three, namely, **Aṇiyaṭṭi-addhāe** (the half of the **Aṇiyaṭṭi** period), **Appasattha-uvasamāṇākaraṇa** (the action of not calming down), **Nivattīkaraṇa** (the action of not stopping), and **Nikācaṇākaraṇa** (the action of not removing), are known.
**54.** The **Āugavajjān** (seven) karmas, at the end of the **Aṇiyaṭṭi-addhāe**, have a **ṭhidisanta-karma** (karma that is not destroyed) of **antokoḍākoḍī** (an immeasurable number).
**55.** The **ṭhidibandha** (bond of karma) at the end of the **Aṇiyaṭṭi-addhāe** is **antokoḍī** (immeasurable) times **sadasahasrapudhatta** (a thousand times the size of the universe).
**56.** Then, in the **ṭhidikhaṇḍaya-sahassasu** (thousands of **ṭhidikhaṇḍa** periods), the **ṭhidibandha** is **sahasrapudhatta** (a thousand times the size of the universe).
**57.** Then, in the **Aṇiyaṭṭi-addhāe**, in the **saṅkhejjesu** (countable) **bhāgesu** (parts) of the **gadesu** (periods), the **ṭhidibandha** is **samgo** (equal to) the **asannidiṭhidibandha** (bond of karma that is not destroyed).
**58.** Then, in the **ṭhidibandha-padhatta** (period of the bond of karma), the **ṭhidibandha** is **samgo** (equal to) the **caduriṇḍiyaṭṭhiṭhidivandha** (bond of karma of a four-sensed being).
The **pamake** (remaining) **saṅkhātava** (countable) **bhāgase** (parts) are **hīna** (less) than this. The **anubhāgakāṇḍaka** (section of the **anubhāga**), the **anubhāgasattva** (being of the **anubhāga**), has an **ananta** (infinite) **bahubhāga** (many parts) **pramaṇa** (measure). The **guṇashreṇī** (series of qualities) is **asaṅkhātaguṇita** (multiplied by an immeasurable number) **shreṇīrūpase** (in the form of a series), and the **sheṣa** (remaining) **sheṣa** (remaining) **dravya** (substance) is **nikshepa** (deposited).
That is, just as in the **apūrvakaraṇa** (previous action), in each **samaya** (time), the **guṇashreṇī** (series of qualities) is created in the form of **galita-sheṣāyāma** (remaining after melting) outside the **udayāvalī** (series of arising), by the **asaṅkhātaguṇita** (multiplied by an immeasurable number) **shreṇī** (series), in the same way, the **guṇashreṇī** (series of qualities) is created here as well.
In the first **samaya** (time) of the **anivṛttikaraṇa** (period of non-return), the **aprashastoupasamāṇākaraṇa** (action of not calming down), **nidhattikaraṇa** (action of not stopping), and **nikācaṇākaraṇa** (action of not removing) all three **karaṇas** (actions) cease together. ||42-53||
**Special Meaning:**
The karma that is capable of **utkarshana** (elevation), **apkarpaṇa** (non-formation), and **para-prakriti-saṅkramaṇa** (transition to another nature), but is not capable of being **apkarṣita** (lowered) in the **udayastithi** (state of arising), that is, whose **udīraṇa** (excitation) cannot be done, is called **aprashastoupasamāṇākaraṇa** (action of not calming down).
The karma that can be **utkarshita** (elevated) and **apkarpita** (non-formed), but whose **udīraṇa** (excitation), that is, **apkarṣaṇa** (lowering) in the **udayastithi** (state of arising) and **para-prakriti-saṅkramaṇa** (transition to another nature) cannot be done, is called **nidhattikaraṇa** (action of not stopping).
The karma that cannot be **utkarshita** (elevated), **apkarpita** (non-formed), **udīrita** (excited), and **para-prakriti-saṅkramita** (transitioned to another nature), but remains in the **sattā** (existence) in the same form as it was bound, is called **nikācaṇākaraṇa** (action of not removing).
These three **karaṇas** (actions) continue until the end of the **apūrvakaraṇa** (previous action), but they all cease in the first **samaya** (time) of the **anivṛttikaraṇa** (period of non-return).
**Churnisū:**
In the first **samaya** (time) of the **anivṛttikaraṇa** (period of non-return), except for the **āyukarma** (karma of lifespan), the remaining seven karmas have a **sṭhitisattva** (state of existence) of **antaḥkoḍākoḍī** (immeasurable) **sāgaropam** (like an ocean) **pramaṇa** (measure), and a **sṭhitibandha** (bond of karma) of **antaḥkoḍī** (immeasurable), that is, **sāgaropam** (like an ocean) **lakshapṛthaktva** (a hundred thousand times the size of the universe) **pramaṇa** (measure).
After that, when **sahasra** (thousand) **sṭhitikaṇḍaka** (periods of existence) have passed, the **sṭhitibandha** (bond of karma) remains **sāgaropam** (like an ocean) **sahasrapṛthaktva** (a thousand times the size of the universe).
After that, when the **saṅkhāta** (countable) **bhāga** (parts) of the **anivṛttikaraṇa** (period of non-return) have passed, the **sṭhitibandha** (bond of karma) is **sahasra** (thousand) **sāgaropam** (like an ocean) **pramaṇa** (measure), equal to the bond of karma of **asaṅjñī** (non-conscious) beings.
After that, when the **sṭhitibandha-pṛthaktva** (separation of the bond of karma) has passed, the **sṭhitibandha** (bond of karma) is equal to the bond of karma of a **caduriṇḍriya** (four-sensed) being.
