Gatha 115] Exposition of the Degrees of Acquisition of Restraint
46. Even among these Laddhi-sthanas (places of acquisition), there is a difference in the number (of places). 47. That is as follows. 48. The Pratipata-sthanas (places of opposition) are the least in number. 49. The Utpada-sthanas (places of origination) are innumerable times more. 50. The Laddhi-sthanas (places of acquisition) are innumerable times more than the Utpada-sthanas.
51. The minimum Samyama-sthana (place of restraint) of one who is proceeding towards Mithyatva (false belief) with varying degrees of intensity and mildness, is the most mild. 52. The maximum Samyama-sthana of the same (i.e., the one proceeding towards Mithyatva) is innumerable times more. 53. The minimum Samyama-sthana of one who is proceeding towards Asamyata-samyaktva (unrestrained right belief) is innumerable times more. 54. The maximum Samyama-sthana of the same is innumerable times more. 55. The minimum Samyama-sthana of one who is proceeding towards Samyama-asamyama (restraint and non-restraint) is innumerable times more. 56. The maximum Samyama-sthana of the same is innumerable times more. 57. The minimum Samyama-sthana of one who is adopting Karmabhumi (the region of karmic activity) is innumerable times more. 58. The minimum Samyama-sthana of one who is adopting Akarmabhumi (the region of non-karmic activity) is innumerable times more.
