## Churnisū - After the recitation of the Gāthā Sūtras, one should first examine the meaning of the Sūtra through its word division, etc. In that, one should first know the Paribhāṣā. ||3||
## Viśeṣārtha - The Paribhāṣā is the detailed explanation of the entire meaning-collection, whether bound or unbound, that is useful in the context of the Gāthā Sūtra.
## Churnisū - That Paribhāṣā is as follows: One should establish separately the states of the three karmas: Mithyātva, Samyagmithyātva, and Samyaktva. And one should also establish the Anubhāga-Spardhaka of those same three karmas in a diagonal arrangement. After that, one should establish the order of the three times: first Adhaḥpravṛttakarana, second Apūrvakaraṇa, and third Anivṛttikaraṇa. After establishing these three, one should state the Lakṣaṇa of Adhaḥpravṛttakarana. Similarly, one should state the Lakṣaṇa of Apūrvakaraṇa and Anivṛttikaraṇa. One should know the Lakṣaṇa of these three karmas in the same way as they are stated in the description of the Upasāmaka of Darshanamoha. ||4-10||
## Churnisū - At the final time of Adhaḥpravṛttakarana, one should describe these four Sūtra-Gāthās. They are as follows: "What is the result of the Jīva who destroys Darshanamoha? In what Yoga, Kaṣāya, and Upayoga is he present? With what Leśyā is he endowed? And what Veda-knowing Jīva destroys Darshanamoha? (1) What are the previous bound karmas of the Jīva who destroys Darshanamoha? And what new Kaṁśas does he now bind? What Prakṛtis enter the Udayāvalī upon the destruction of Darshanamoha? And what Prakṛtis does he arouse? (2) Compared to the binding or arising before the time of the destruction of Darshanamoha, what Kaśas are diminished? Where does he make the difference? And where and of what karmas does he make the Apaṇa
## 1 What is the name of the Suttavihāsa? The recitation of the Gāthā Sūtras, the examination of their meaning through their word division, etc., is called Suttavihāsa. 2 Suttaparihāsa, however, is the detailed explanation of all that is bound or unbound, and is useful in the context of the Gāthā Sūtras. 3 For example, the Tīrthāṅga will compose them.
