## 8 Chattan - Atyahyaroo
1. **Chattana** is the name of the **Anuyogadwar** that should be studied first. 2. It is as follows: (17) **Krodha** is said to be of four types. **Mana** is also of four types. **Maya** is also said to be of four types and **Lobha** is also of four types. || 70 || (18) **G.** **Prithvi**, **Valugo** (sand), **Uday** (rising), **Rairis** (dust) - these are the four types of **Krodha**. **Selavan** (stone), **Atthi** (bone), **Daru** (wood), **Lata** (creeper) - these are the four types of **Mana**. || 71 ||
## 8 Chatuhsthan Arthaadhikār
**Churnisoo** - In the **Anuyogadwar** named **Chatuhsthan**, one should first investigate the **Gatha-Sutras**. They are as follows: || 1-2 ||
**Krandha** is said to be of four types. **Mana** is also of four types. **Maya** is also said to be of four types and **Lobha** is also of four types. || 70 ||
**Vishesharth** - This first **Sutragatha** is from the **Chatuhsthan-Adhikār** as spoken by the **Gunadharacharya**. It indicates that each of the **Kshayas** (passions) like **Krodha** (anger) has four types. Here, the four types of **Krodha** etc. are not being described in relation to **Anantanu bandhi** etc., because their types have already been decided in **Prakriti Vibhakti** etc. Therefore, in this **Chatuhsthan Adhikār**, the types of **Kshayas** are being described in relation to **Lata**, **Daru** etc. (types of **Mana**), not in relation to **Ekasthan**, **Dwistahan** etc. (types of **Krodha**). Only by understanding the meaning in this way will the meaning of the following **Gathas** be consistent, otherwise not. Because, in **Anantanu bandhi** etc. three **Kshayas**, a single location is not possible. The collection of four types of locations like **Lata**, **Daru** etc. is called **Chatuhsthan**. The **Anuyogadwar** that describes this **Chatuhsthan** is called **Chatuhsthan Anuyogadwar**.
Now, **Gunadharacharya** himself describes the four types of **Kshayas** like **Krodha** through **Gatha-Sutras**.
**Krodha** is of four types: **Nagarajisadrish** (like a king of snakes), **Prithvigajisadrish** (like an elephant on earth), **Valukarajisadrish** (like a king of sand), and **Udakarajisadrish** (like a king of water). Similarly, **Mana** also has four types: **Shaildhanasaman** (like a treasure in a mountain), **Asthisaman** (like a bone), **Darusaman** (like wood), and **Latasaman** (like a creeper). || 71 ||
**Vishesharth** - In this **Gatha**, in relation to **Kala** (time), **Krodha** is described, and in relation to **Bhaava** (feeling), **Mana** is described.
