Kasaya Pahuda Sutta
[5. Sankrama-arthadhikara]
9. When there is the arising of five kasayas, there are eight sankrama-sthanas.
10. When the upasama of the samjvalana-mana occurs, there are seven sankrama-sthanas.
11. When the upasama of the two madhyama-mayayakasayas occurs, there are five sankrama-sthanas.
12. When the upasama of the samjvalana-maya occurs, there are four sankrama-sthanas.
13. When the upasama of the two madhyama-lobhas occurs, there is the sankrama of only the two prakrtis of mithyatva and samyag-mithyatva.
Thus, along with the twenty-four-prakrti sattva-sthanas, the thirteen sankrama-sthanas mentioned above are found. The sankrama-sthanas encountered in the descent of the same jiva are subsumed under the above-mentioned sankrama-sthanas, as they are repetitive. The twenty-one-prakrti sankrama-sthana of the samyag-mithyasti with twenty-four prakrtis, and the twenty-two-prakrti sankrama-sthana encountered after the destruction of the darsana-mohaniya, are also not considered separate, as they are repetitive.
Now, let us investigate the possible sankrama-sthanas with the twenty-three-prakrti sattva-sthana. When the jiva with twenty-four prakrtis, after destroying the darsana-moha, achieves the destruction of mithyatva, a twenty-two-prakrti sankrama-sthana is found with the twenty-three-prakrti sattva-sthana. Further, when the same jiva destroys the samyag-mithyatva, leaving only a small tuft of hair-like appendages, a twenty-one-prakrti sankrama-sthana is found with the same twenty-three-prakrti sattva-sthana.
Thus, with the twenty-three-prakrti sattva-sthana, there are two sankrama-sthanas: twenty-two-prakrti and twenty-one-prakrti.
When the same suitable jiva completely destroys the samyag-mithyatva, a twenty-one-prakrti sankrama-sthana is found with the twenty-two-prakrti sattva-sthana.
Now, let us investigate the possible sankrama-sthanas with the twenty-one-prakrti sattva-sthana. With the twenty-one-prakrti sattva-sthana of the ksayika-samyag-drsti, there is a twenty-one-prakrti sankrama-sthana. Further, on ascending the upasama-sreni, there is a twenty-prakrti sankrama-sthana with the twenty-one-prakrti sattva.
In this manner, one should trace the subsequent ten possible sankrama-sthanas. Thus, with the twenty-one-prakrti sattva, there are twelve sankrama-sthanas of 21, 20, 19, 18, 12, 11, 9, 8, 6, 5, 3, and 2 prakrtis in the upasama-sreni.
And in the ksapaka-sreni, after destroying the eight madhyama-kasayas, leaving only a small tuft of hair-like appendages, a thirteen-prakrti sattva-sthana is also found with the twenty-one-prakrti sattva. Adding this to the above twelve, there are a total of thirteen sankrama-sthanas with the twenty-one-prakrti sattva-sthana.
Further, when the same ksapaka completely destroys the eight madhyama-kasayas, a thirteen-prakrti sankrama-sthana is found with the thirteen-prakrti sattva-sthana.
Additionally, when the same jiva performs antahkarana, and then undergoes anupurvi-sankramana, a twelve-prakrti sankrama-sthana is also found with the thirteen-prakrti sattva-sthana.
Thus, with the thirteen-prakrti sattva-sthana, there are two sankrama-sthanas: thirteen-prakrti and twelve-prakrti.
When the same jiva destroys the napumsaka-veda, an eleven-prakrti sankrama-sthana is found with the twelve-prakrti sattva-sthana.
