**[Chapter 22]**
**Differentiation of the Minor Divisions**
**262.** How long is the minor division of the *appadarakarma* (non-destructive karma)?
**263.** The minimum time is *antarmuhurta* (half a muhurta).
**264.** The maximum time is *satireka* (one hundred and thirty-two) *sagaropama* (like an ocean).
**265.** Differentiation.
**266.** The minimum difference for a being with *bhujagara* (snake-like) and *avavidakarma* (non-destructive karma) is one *samaya* (moment).
**267.** The maximum difference is *tevahisaagaropama* (one hundred and sixty-three) *sagaropama*.
**268.** How long is the minor division of the *appadarakarma*?
**269.** The minimum time is one *samaya*.
**270.** The maximum time is *antarmuhurta*.
**271.** The same applies to the rest.
**Churnisutra:** What is the duration of the minor divisions of the two states of *samyaktva* (right faith) and *samyagmithyatva* (right and wrong faith)? The minimum time is *antarmuhurta* and the maximum time is *satireka* (one hundred and thirty-two) *sagaropama*. ||262-264||
**Vishesharth:** When a being with *mithyadristi* (wrong vision) attains *prathama samyaktva* (first right faith), the *avaktvyavibhakti* (non-expressible division) occurs for the first time. From the second time onwards, the minimum time for the minor division is *antarmuhurta*, which is the time required to destroy the *darshanamohaniya* (obscuration of knowledge). The maximum time for the minor division of both *samyaktva* and *samyagmithyatva* is *satireka* (one hundred and thirty-two) *sagaropama*, which should be understood in the same way as the previous example.
**Churnisutra:** Now, we will discuss the difference between the *bhujagara* and other divisions. The minimum difference for a being with *mithyatva* (wrong faith) and *bhujagara* and *avasthita* (stationary) divisions is one *samaya*. ||265-266||
**Vishesharth:** When a being with *bhujagara* and *avasthita* divisions attains the minor division for the second time, and then again attains *bhujagara* and *avasthita* divisions for the third time, the difference is one *samaya*.
**Churnisutra:** The maximum difference for a being with *mithyatva* and *bhujagara* and *avasthita* divisions is *tevahisaagaropama* (one hundred and sixty-three) *sagaropama*. ||267||
**Vishesharth:** If a being in the *tiryancha* (animal) or *manushya* (human) realm attains *bhujagara* and *avasthita* divisions, and then again attains the minor division after *antarmuhurta*, and then is reborn as a *devakuru* (heavenly being) or *uttarakuru* (northern heavenly being) with three *palyopama* (like a palm tree), and then dies and is reborn in the *deva* (heavenly) realm, and then after *tevahisaagaropama* (one hundred and sixty-three) *sagaropama* is reborn as a *manushya*, and then after *antarmuhurta* attains *bhujagara* and *avasthita* divisions, then the difference mentioned in the sutra is achieved.
**Churnisutra:** What is the duration of the minor division of *mithyatvakarma* (karma of wrong faith)? The minimum difference is one *samaya* and the maximum difference is *antarmuhurta*. The same applies to the other karmas. ||268-271||
**Vishesharth:** Since a being with *mithyatvakarma* and the minor division can attain *bhujagara* or *avasthita* divisions after one *samaya*, and then again attain the minor division for the third time, it is possible...
