## [Verse 22] The Duration of _Bhujakar_ and _Alpatar_ Divisions
**122.** Here, time is relative to a single living being.
**123.** How long does the _Bhujakar_ division of the _Sattva_ nature last? It is one _Samaya_ for both the lowest and the highest.
**124.** How long does the _Alpatar_ division of the _Sattva_ nature last? It is one _Samaya_ for the lowest.
**125.** For the highest, it is two _Samayas_.
**126.** There are three types of durations for the _Avasthit_ _Karma_ _Prakriti_ divisions.
**Commentary:**
**122-123.** Here, time is relative to a single living being. How long does the _Bhujakar_ division of the _Sattva_ nature last? It is one _Samaya_ for both the lowest and the highest.
**Explanation:** _Bhujakar_ division refers to the attainment of a higher _Karma_ _Prakriti_ from a lower one. For example, a being with 26 or 27 _Prakritis_ attaining _Upshama_ _Samyaktv_ and establishing 28 _Prakritis_ takes one _Samaya_ for this _Bhujakar_ division. Similarly, a _Samyakdrishti_ being with 24 _Prakritis_ attaining _Mithyatva_ and establishing 28 _Prakritis_ also takes one _Samaya_ for this _Bhujakar_ division.
**124.** How long does the _Alpatar_ division of the _Sattva_ nature last? It is one _Samaya_ for the lowest.
**Explanation:** _Alpatar_ division refers to the attainment of a lower _Karma_ _Prakriti_ from a higher one. For example, a being with 28 _Sattva_ _Prakritis_ disconnecting from the _Anantaanubandhi_ _Chatushk_ and establishing 24 _Prakritis_ takes one _Samaya_ for this _Alpatar_ division. Similarly, when _Samyaktv_ and _Samyagmithyatva_ _Prakritis_ are completely exhausted, the first _Samaya_ is considered the lowest _Alpatar_ duration. The same applies to the exhaustion of _Mithyatva_, _Samyagmithyatva_, and _Samyaktv_ _Prakritis_ in the first _Samaya_, and the exhaustion of _Kshapanayogya_ _Prakritis_ in the first _Samaya_ of the _Kshapak_ series.
**125.** For the highest, it is two _Samayas_.
**Explanation:** When a being ascends the _Kshapak_ series with the rise of the _Napumsakaved_ and undergoes a transition from 13 _Prakritis_ to 12 _Prakritis_ in the second last _Samaya_ of the _Saved_ part due to the _Paraprakriti_ of the _Strived_, and then, in the subsequent _Samaya_, reduces the _Napumsakaved_ from its established state and transitions from 12 _Prakritis_ to 11 _Prakritis_, this continuous process is considered the highest _Alpatar_ duration of two _Samayas_.
**126.** There are three types of durations for the _Avasthit_ _Karma_ _Prakriti_ divisions.
**Explanation:** When neither _Bhujakar_ nor _Alpatar_ divisions occur, but only a similar _Prakriti_ remains, then...
**1.** Just as some are eternally established, some are eternally not established, and some are established for a limited time.
