## Chapter 21: Elucidation of Love and Hate through the Twelve Anuyogas
**111. *Ukkassena Antomuhutta*:** If a Tiryanch or a human being remains in the state of hatred until the end of the *Antomuhurta* (the last moment before death), and dies in that state, they are born in hell. Thus, the shortest duration of hatred for a being in hell is one *muhurta* (a period of time). Similarly, one should understand the shortest duration of attachment.
**Explanation:** Although beings in hell are said to be full of hatred, they also experience joy in certain actions like cutting, piercing, killing, and striking. Therefore, there is a possibility of attachment in them. In this way, the longest duration of attachment for a being in hell who later goes to hatred is established as *Antomuhurta*. The same principle should be applied to the longest duration of hatred.
Just as the shortest and longest durations of attachment and hatred in hell have been explained, one should understand the shortest and longest durations of attachment and hatred in the remaining realms and paths. It is important to note that the shortest and longest durations of attachment and hatred in the *Kashaya* path are always *Antomuhurta*, because without *Antomuhurta*, there is no change in *Kashaya*. For beings in the *Karmanakaya* path, the shortest duration of attachment and hatred is one *muhurta*, and the longest duration is three *muhurtas*. Similarly, for beings in the *Anaharaka* path, the shortest duration of attachment and hatred is one *muhurta*, and the longest duration is three *muhurtas*.
**112. *Evam Savvaaniyogaddarani Anugantavvani*:** Now, to explain the remaining *Anuyogadwaras*, the *Arpanasutra* says:
**Explanation:** The author of the *Churnisutra* has not explained the meaning of the remaining *Anuyogadwaras* in an easy-to-understand way. However, for those who are particularly inquisitive, some explanation is given here according to the *Jayadhavala* commentary. (3) There are two types of instructions regarding *Antar-anugam* - *Oghanirdash* and *Aadesh-nirdash*. Of these, the shortest duration of attachment in *Oghanirdash* is one...
(3) The editors of the *Jayadhavala* have not considered this to be a *Churnisutra*, but it is clearly a *Churnisutra* because the previous section only mentions the shortest duration of hatred for beings in hell, not the longest duration. Therefore, it is necessary to explain it. The *Jayadhavala* commentary itself confirms its status as a *sutra*. For example: *Ukkassena Antomuhutta*. *Kudo, Saabhaviyado*.
