If one does not die or does not become miserable, all this also is due to the fruition of karmas. Therefore, your view that you have not killed or not caused suffering to somebody, is it not erroneous?
मूढ़बुद्धि बन्ध का कारण है -
एसा दु जा मदी दे दुक्खिदसुहिदे करेमि सत्ते त्ति। एसा दे मूढमदी सुहासुहं बंधदे कम्म॥

तेरी यह जो बुद्धि है कि मैं जीवों को दुखी-सुखी करता हूँ, यह तेरी मूढ़ बुद्धि ही शुभाशुभ कर्मों को बाँधती है।
Your conviction that you give misery or happiness to other living beings is a delusion which engenders bondages of karmas resulting into merit or demerit.
मिथ्याध्यवसान बन्ध का कारण है -
दुक्खिदसुहिदे सत्ते करेमि जं एवमझवसिदं ते। तं पावबंधगं वा पुण्णस्स व बंधगं होदि॥

मारेमि जीववेमि य सत्ते जं एवमज्झवसिदं ते। तं पावबंधगं वा पुण्णस्स व बंधगं होदि॥
