न कर्तुमुद्योगमियं न वार्ता परन्तु लोभोत्थविकल्प-धूमैः । इमं स्वतःकरणं पृथैव कार्यं गृहस्थैरपि हन्त ! कस्मात् १ ॥ ८० ॥
૮૦. ઉદ્યોગ ન કરવાની આ વાત નથી, પણ તાપ એ છે કે ગૃહસ્થે.એ પશુ લાભથી ઊઠતા વિકલ્પરૂપ ધૂમાડાથી પાતાના ચિત્તને શા માટે વ્ય કેળું બનાવવું–કષિત રાખવું ?
80. From this one should not infer that abstension from all Botivities is desirable; but why should even householders unnece. sarily blacken their minds with the smoke of fanciful desires emanating from greed?
क्रोधस्य रोधस्य शमो विधाता मानाय शक्नोति पुनर्मृदुत्वम् । ऋजुत्वमुच्छेत्तुमलं च मायां लोभस्य शत्रुः परितोष एकः ॥ ८१ ॥
૮૧ ક્રોધના રાધ શમથી (પ્રશાન્ત વૃત્તિથી) થાય, માનને પછાડે મૃદુત્વના ગુણુ, માયાને હશે ઋજુતા અને લેશને કટ્ટો દુશ્મન સનેષ,
81. Tranquillity of mind is able to curb anger, gentleness is competent to defeat arrogance, sincerity destroys deception and contentment is the only bitter enemy of greed.
क्रोधादिकाविर्भवनप्रसङ्गान् प्रागेव दूरीकुरुतां विचार्य । कषाय आयातवति प्रसङ्गादुक्तानुपायांस्त्वरया भजेत
