૪૦. વિચાર કરતાં સાફ સમજી શકાય તેમ છે કે અભિમાન કરવા જેવી કોઈ ચીજ નથી. જગતમાં એક એકથી ચઢિયાતા પ્રત્યક્ષ જેવાય છે.
40. A little thinking clearly sbows that there is no object (in the whole world) in which & C#: tke just pride. It 18 A matter of direct experience in this world that every man somewhere encounters epother who is superior to, or more than a match for, bim.
अनन्यसाधारणबुद्धिमत्वमनन्यसाधारणशक्तिमत्त्वम् । अनन्यसाधारणवैभवत्वं क्वाऽस्मासु कुर्याम यतोऽभिमानम् १ ॥४१॥
' ૪૧, અનન્યસાધારણ બુદ્ધિ, અનન્યસાધારણ શક્તિ અને અનન્યસાધારણ વૈભવ અમારામાં કયાં કે જેના પર અમે અભિમાન કરી શકીએ?
41. We are not endowed with matohless intelligence, power and prosperity of wbich we can feel justy proud.
न श्रीः प्रसन्ना प्रविकासिग्भ्यां न भारती दत्तवती वरं च । महत्वपूर्ण च कृतं न किञ्चित् तथाप्यहो ! दप-समुद्रतत्वम् ! ॥ ४२ ॥
૪૨. નથી લહમી પ્રફુલ્લ નેત્રથી પ્રસન્ન થઈ કે નથી સરસ્વતીએ કઈ વરદાન આપ્યું; તેમ જ મહત્વ શું કંઈ કામ બજાવ્યું નથી. છતાં મન્માદ !
42. Oh I the vain gloriousness of human beings, though the goddess of wealth with her blooming eyes has not smiled upon them, the goddess of learning has conferred no boon upon them and they themselves have not performed any great or important thing.
