अध्यात्मतत्वालोकः
killed, be agonised! Those who kill and torment others, raise reactionary feelings of enmity against themselves,
हिंसा परस्याशुभचिन्तनेऽपि परापकारे पुनरुच्यते किम् १ । विश्वाङ्गिमैत्रीरति-लक्षणां योऽजानादहिसां स हि वेद तत्वम् ॥ १५ ॥
૧પ. બીજાનું બુરું ચિંતવવામાં પણ હિંસા છે, તે બુરું કરવામાં તે શું પછવું? અહિંસાનું વાસ્તવિક તત્ત્વ દુનિયાભરના પ્રાણીઓ સાથે મૈત્રીભાવ અનુભવવામાં છે. અહિંસાનું આ લક્ષણ જે સમજે છે, તે જ તત્તવને સમજે છે, તે જ ખરે તત્વવેત્તા છે.
15. Even thinking ill of others is Hinsā, then what to say of doing ill to others? He who bas understood Abiprā to mean universal brotherhood or love, has grasped the right principle.
धर्मस्त्वहिंसामवलम्बमानो हिंसात आविर्भविता कथं नु ? नह्यम्बुतः सम्प्रभवन्ति पाथरुहाणि वह्नर्जननं लभन्ते ॥ १६ ॥
૧૬. ધર્મનું સાધન અહિંસાના પાલન પર આધાર રાખે છે; પછી તે હિંસાથી કેમ થાય? પાણીમાં ઉત્પન્ન થનારાં કમળ અગ્નિમાંથી કેમ પેદા થઈ શકે?
16. Merit which acorues from non-injury, can never socrue from injury. Lotuses which grow in water can never have their growth in fire.
