અદારતા ૯. દુનિયામાં વિચિત્ર પ્રકારનાં એશ્વર્ય જોઈ તું કેમ તાજુબ થાય છે કેમ મોહ પામે છે? સમજ કે એ, કર્મને નાશવન્ત વિપાક છે, અને પુણ્ય ભેગવટ ભેગ-લુબ્ધ પ્રાણીને અધોગતિમાં પટકે છે.
79. Why are you wonder-struck und fascinated on goeing prosperity in its various forms in this world ? It is uil tho momentary result of Karmas; and the enjoyment of worldly pleasures following the fructification of tuerit, degrades one who is passionate iy attach:d to them,
इन्द्राः सुराश्वकभृतो नरेन्द्रा महौजसः श्रीपतयः सुरूपाः । सर्वेऽपि कर्मप्रभवा भवन्ति को नश्वरे कर्म-फले विमोहः ? ॥ ८॥
૮૦. ઈન્દ્ર, દેવે, ચક્રવર્તી એ, નરેન્દ્રો અને મહાન વીરે, ધનપતિઓ તથા સુન્દર રૂપમૂર્તિઓ એ બધા કર્મથી સજાવવા છે. પછી કનાં ફળ, જે વિનશ્વર છે, એમાં સુજ્ઞને મેહશે?

सदा निरीक्षेत निज चरित्रं शुदि समागच्छति हीयते वा । हानि च वृद्धिं च धनस्य पश्यन् मूढः स्ववृत्ते न दृशं करोति ! ॥ ८१॥
૮૧ હમેશાં મનુષ્ય પોતાના વતન ઉપર ધ્યાન આપવું જોઈએ કે તે સુપરતું જાય છે કે બગડતું જાય છે. માણસ પિતાના ધનની હાનિ-વૃદ્ધિ પર ધ્યાન રાખે છે. પણ પિતાના ચારિત્રની (વર્તનની) શી દશા છે તે તરફ ધ્યાન આપતું નથી. કેવી મૂઢતા !
