[ २१५ ]
Wise people serve themselves by serving others, and arjoy mentally the experience of self-satisfaction. 25
अधिकांश यशोवादेच्या दानं विधीयते । तच्चोपकुरुतेऽवश्यं क्षेत्रे पतति यत्र तत्
॥ २६ ॥
दातुर्यशोऽभिलाषोऽपि परितुष्यति तेन च । कल्याणभूतं तु सुखं तिष्ठत्येव सुदूरतः || २७ ||

માટે ભાગે કીત્તિની લાલસાથી દાન અપાતું હેાય તેમ જોવામાં આવે છે. જો કે તે જે ક્ષેત્રમાં પડે છે તેને અવસ્ય સહાયક થાય છે, તેમજ દાતાની ચથેલિપ્સા પણ એથી સતાષાય છે; પરન્તુ આત્મકલ્યાણભૂત સુખ તે બહુ છેટે રહે
छे. २६-२७.
तदवेत्य स्वकर्त्तव्यं निजशक्त्यनुसारतः । यद् दीयेत यथौचित्यमुमयोस्तद्धितावहम्
Charity is generally done with an eye to acquiring fame, and this charity both, does help the recipient as well as gratify the giver's desire for fame. But the innermost happiness of the soul's welfare remains remote. 26-27
।। २८ ।।
માટે કત્ત વ્ય સમજીને ચથાશક્તિ ઔચિત્યયુક્ત જે દાન કરાય તે જ उभयने हितावह छे. २८.
Therefore proper charity done as a matter of duty serves the interest of both the giver and the taker. 28
परोपकारप्रवणः सर्वनेत्रामृताञ्जनम् |
उदाराः स्यात ! दातारो विवेकेन दयालवः ॥ २९ ॥
