ફીલ્ડ મૂતિઃ
હિંસાથી ધમનું તત્ત્વ નથી સધાતું. ધમ તે ખીજાને સન્તેષ પમાડવામાં છે. એ જ રીતથી મનુષ્યેામાં પરસ્પર સૌમનસ્ય (મીઠી લાગી, મીઠે વ્યવહાર) સધાય છે, અને સાથે જ, આત્મસન્તાષ પણ પમાય છે, (૬૪)
( 64 ) To attain piety ( Dharms ) through violence is impossible. To attain piety, make others happy. Mutual affectionate feelings and also self-contentment of men flow from such a wish to make others happy.
अनन्तसंक्लेश भवार्तनादैः करोति वातावरणं च हिंसा |
मलीमसं क्रूर - भयंकरं च विलीयते तेन च लोकशान्तिः ॥ ६५ ॥
પ્રાણીને હિંસવામાં તેના અનન્તદુઃખભર્યાં આન્તનાદે ખરેખર વાતાવરણને ક્રૂર, ભયંકર અને મલિન બનાવી મૂકે છે, અને એથી પ્રજાજીવનની શાન્તિ પણ હણાય છે. (૬)
( 65 ) The helpless eries of animals experiencing infinite pain while being killed, render the atmosphere dirty, oruel and fearful. It is this that destroys world-peace.
जिजीविषा चेत् सुखतः स्वयं तद् न बाधकः स्यात् परजीवनस्य । अन्यान् समुज्यास्य सुखी बुभूषा नूनं महामोहविचेष्टितं तत् ॥ ६६ ॥
માણસ પેાતે જે સુખે જીવવા ચાહતા હોય તે તેણે ખીજાના મનને આધાકારક ન બનવું જોઈએ ( ખીજા જીવાને પણ સુખે જીવવા દેવા જેઈએ ). બીજાના કચ્ચરઘાણ વાળીને પેાતે સુખી થવા ઇચ્છવુ એ તે ખૂબ જ અજ્ઞાન ચેન્ના છેાય કર ભ્રમણા છે. બીજાઓને દુઃખમાં નાંખનાર પેાતાને માથે પણ દુઃખના ભય ઘૂમી રહેલા અનુભવતા ડેાય છે.) (૧૬)
(66) If one wants to live in peace, let him not destroy the life of another. The expectation to live happily after destroying others is an egregious blunder,
