શી-તિતિ દીક્ષા સર્વ પાપના વિદ્યારણરૂપ અને નિર્મળ ભાવવૃત્તિરૂપ ફરમાવવામાં આવેલી છે, માટે માતાપિતાને અત્યન્ત દુઃખ-સન્તા૫માં નાંખી દીક્ષા ગ્રહણ કરવી ન્યાયસર નથી. (૪૦)
( 40 ) Diksba is recognized as the greatest dissipatur of sins, and presupposes accompaniment of pure sentiments. It is, therefore assuredly not proper to receive Diksbe if it causes grave and anxious pain to the minds of parents.
पित्रोरुपास्तिव्रतसम्पदादिभूतं शुभं मङ्ग मस्तिलोके । सदुष्प्रतीकार-महोपकारौ पूजास्पदं धार्मिकचेतसां तौ
॥४१॥
માતા-પિતાની ભક્તિ એ ચારિત્ર-વ્રત-સાધનાનું પ્રારંભિક શુભ મંગલ છે. જેમને પ્રત્યુપકાર બહુ દુષ્કર છે એવા મહાપકારી માતા-પિતા ધામિક મનવૃત્તિના માણસને પૂજનીય હોય છે, (૪૧)
( 41 ) The worship of parents, is an auspicious precursor to the life of a mendicant. Parents whose debts bre very difficult to repay, are the first objects of veneration for the righteous.
स धर्मशाली स पुनः कृतज्ञा सती च तद्देवगुरुकमार्चा । समुज्ज्वलान्तःकरणेन सम्यग् एतौ गुरू सम्प्रतिपद्यते यः ॥ ४२ ॥
તે ધર્મથી ભિત છે, તે કૃતજ્ઞ છે અને તેની દેવગુરુભક્તિ પ્રશરત છે, કે, જે એ ગુરુએ માતાપિતાને શુદ્ધ અન્તઃકરણથી ગ્ય રીતે આરાધે છે. (૨)
( 42 ) He is said to be religious, he is regarded as grateful and his worship of God and preceptors is considered as praise worthy, who, with a pure heart fervently adores his parents,
