અન્તર્ગત છે, અરે ! બેભાન અવસ્થા પણ એની અન્તર્ગત છે.”૪
(૬) જે.બી.એસ. હેલ્ડન કહે છે કે, “સત્ય હકીકત તો એ છે કે વિશ્વનું મૌલિક તત્ત્વ જડ (Matter) નથી, જળ (Force) નથી, અથવા ભૌતિક પદાર્થ (Physical substance) નથી પરંતુ મન અને ચેતના જ
(૭) આર્થર એચ. કોપ્ટન તો આત્માની નિત્યતા અંગે બહુ સ્પષ્ટ શબ્દમાં કહે છે કે, “એક નિર્ણય કે જે એમ દેખાડે છે કે મૃત્યુ પછી પણ આત્મા જેવી વસ્તુ ઊભી રહે છે. જવાળા એ કાષ્ટથી ભિન્ન છે. કાષ્ટ તો થોડા સમય માટે એને પ્રગટ કરવા માટે ઈન્ધનનું કામ કરે છે.”= =
(૮) સર ઓલિવર લોજ કહે છે કે, “એક એવો સમય અવશ્ય આવશે જ્યારે વિજ્ઞાન દ્વારા અજ્ઞાત વિષયનું અન્વેષણ થશે. આપણે જેવું માનીએ છીએ તેના કરતાં ઘણું અધિક તો વિશ્વનું આધ્યાત્મિક અસ્તિત્ત્વ છે. વસ્તુસ્થિતિ તો એ છે કે આપણે તે આધ્યાત્મિક જગતની મધ્યમાં છીએ, જે ભૌતિક જગતથી પર છે. 19
(૯) વળી તેઓ એક જગ્યાએ કહે છે કે “જેમ મનુષ્ય બે દિવસની વચ્ચે રહેલી રાત્રિમાં સ્વમ જુએ છે તે જ રીતે મનુષ્યનો આત્મા મૃત્યુ અને પુનર્જન્મની વચ્ચે વિશ્વમાં અહીંતહીં વિહરે છે.”
આ વિધાન આત્માના અવિનાશી અસ્તિત્ત્વની કેટલી મહત્ત્વની વાત રજૂ કરે છે ? વૈાનિકો પણ આ રીતે પુનર્જન્મ માનતા થયા અને આત્મા જેવું એક નિત્યતત્ત્વ સ્વીકારવા લાગ્યા કે જે એક સમયમાં તદ્દન અસંભવિત બાબત હતી, જેનો બાઈબલ જેવા તેમના ધર્મગ્રંથમાં પણ સ્પષ્ટ નિષેધ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે ! જિનાગમની અંદર આત્માના અવિનાશી સ્વરૂપની વાત ખૂબ જ સ્પષ્ટ રીતે પહેલેથી કહેવાઈ ચૂકી છે. એ જ હકીકત તેના પ્રરૂપકોની સર્વજ્ઞતાને અકાર્ય રીતે સિદ્ધ કરી આપે છે.
(૧૦) “ધ ગ્રેટ ડિઝાઈન” નામનું એક પુસ્તક છે, જેમાં દુનિયાના મહત્ત્વનાં ગણાતા વૈજ્ઞાનિકોએ પોતાના સામૂહિક અભિપ્રાયો આપ્યા છે. આ પુસ્તકમાં સ્પષ્ટરૂપે એ વિચાર રજુ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે કે, “આ વિશ્વ એમ ને એમ કાંઈ બની ગયું નથી. એની પાછળ કોઈ ચેતનાશક્તિ કામ કરી રહી છે.”
એક પુસ્તકમાં તો સ્પષ્ટ લખ્યું છે કે, “આજે એ વાતનું મજબૂત પ્રમાણ મળે છે એવી પણ ઘટનાઓ આ વિશ્વમાં બને છે કે જે વિજ્ઞાનના નિયમોથી સમજી શકાતી નથી. ઘટનાઓ એક કઠિન શબ્દ દ્વારા સમજાવી શકાય છે. એ શબ્દ છે, ‘સાઈકિકલ’ (psychical) , આ શબ્દનો વિકાસ એક ગ્રીક શબ્દમાંથી થયો છે, જેનો અર્થ છે આત્મા. આ ઘટનાઓનો સંબંધ આત્માની સાથે કલ્પી શકાય તેમ હતો, શરીરથી નહિ ”e C.
