may be observed that these ceremonies which are performed by gagas start with प्राचीसाधना for the वेदी, यज्ञ etc. These पुरोहितs had to work out independently the true east and west, and as these ceremonials had oftentimes to be performed in the proximity of the construction and sometimes even in the constructed portion itself, the deviation, if any, in the true east or west in the works of gaia or the architect could be easily detected.
Thus the entire structure in its distinctive stages is secured from flaws.
