INTRODUCTION
संसारबारकपलायनफालघण्टा
जैन वचस्तदिह को न भजेत विद्वान् ? ॥" There are several quotations in this com. Some of them are in Saṁskṛta and some in Pārya. Of them I may here note the following :--
"प्रेक्षावता प्रवृत्यर्थं फलादित्रितयं स्फुटम् ।
मङ्गलं चैव शास्त्रादौ वाच्यमिष्टार्थसिद्धये ॥"-.p. 1 "सद्धर्मबीजवपनानघकौशलस्य
यल्लोकबान्धव! तवापि खिलान्यभूवन् । तनाद्भुतं खगकुलेविह तामसेषु ।
सूर्यांशवो मधुकरीचरणावदाताः ॥"-.p. 4 "तिगुणा तिरूवअहिया तिरियाणं इस्थिया मुणेयव्वा ! सत्तावीसउणा पुण मणुयागं तदहिया चेव ॥ बत्तीसगुणा बत्तीसरूवअहिया य तह य देवाणं । देवीओ पत्ता जिणेहिं जियरागदोसेहिं ॥2-p. 29 "जीवाणमयजत्ता बहुतरया बादराण विष्णेया।
सुहुमाग उ पज्जत्ता ओहेण य केवलावित्ति ॥"3--2.42 In the end there is a quotation from the Bhuīsya (p. 319) of TS (X, 7).
Several works are noted in this com, e. g. Anuyogadvāro (p.25), Avasyahatīkū(p. 2), Karmaprakrti sangrahanika (p.59), Jivdbhiyama (p. 28), Pannatti (p. 33), Nandyadhyayana (p. 6) and Siddhapāhuda (p. 11).
On pp. 1-2 there is an exposition of prayojana, abhideya' and sambandhas. It is followed by a discussion about mangalas. On p. 9 it is explained why dharmistikāya is mentioned ahead of odharmīstikāya, cīkāśāstikcīya and allelhā.
On pp. 6 & 18 there is mention of महावीरवर्द्धमान, a. combination of the two names of Lord Mahāvira,
On p. 2 the etymology of 'guru' is given,
A difference of opinion is noted on p. 71. 1 This is attributed to Vādimukhya. 2 Both of these verses have for their author Vuddhayariya (Sk, ___Vrddhacarya) so mentioned on p. 29. 3 This verse is prefixed by "उक्तं च सङ्ग्रहणिकारेण". 4 See DCJM (Vol. XVII, pt. I, p. 204).
