Among the aforementioned five categories of actions, only Iryapathiki Kriya is not a cause for the influx of samparayik karma; all other actions are due to kashaya-induced causes for samparayik karmic bondage. Here, all actions are indicated with respect to the predominance of samparayik karmic influx. Although non-vows, sensory activities, and the bondage-inducing nature of the aforementioned actions are dependent on attachment and aversion, the real binding cause of samparayik karma is attachment and aversion (kashaya). Nevertheless, the mention of kashaya as a binding cause for non-vows, etc., in the sutra is to highlight that the binding nature arises from the influence of kashaya.
1. The five senses, the mind, speech, and body are the three powers; the inhalation, exhalation, and lifespan constitute the ten vital energies.
