Tattvarthasutra
[4.11-20 The Asura Kumara, Naga Kumara, Vidyut Kumara, Suparna Kumara, Agni Kumara, Vasak Kumara, Stanita Kumara, Udhika Kumara, Dweepa Kumara, and Dikka Kumara - these (ten) belong to the Bhavanavasi class.
Kinnara, Kipurusha, Mahoraga, Gandharva, Yaksha, Rakshasa, Bhuta, and Pishacha - these (eight) are of the Vyantar class.
Sun, Moon, planets, constellations, and scattered stars - these (five) are of the Jyotishka class.
They circumambulate around Meru in the human realm and are constantly in motion.
The division of time is made by them (the Charajyotishkas). The Jyotishkas remain stationary outside the human realm. The fourth class consists of Vaimanika deities. They are of the type that transcend creation and exist above.
Their abodes are found in the twelve kalpas of Saudharma, Aishana, Sanatkumara, Maheendra, Brahmaloka, Lantaka, Mahashukra, Sahasrara, Anata, Pranata, Arana, and Achyuta, as well as in the nine Avayakas and in Vijaya, Vaijayanta, Jayanta, Aparajita, and Sarvarthasiddha.
Bhānapati - the ten types of Bhavanapati deities reside in many kotakoti laksha yojanas below the Sumeru mountain on Jambudvipa, both to the south and north. Asura Kumara generally dwell in residences and sometimes in buildings, while Naga Kumara and others almost always reside in buildings.
Residences are found in the space of one lakh seventy-eight thousand yojanas, except for one thousand yojanas above and below in the realm of Ratnaprabha, while buildings are situated only in the area of ninety thousand yojanas beneath Ratnaprabha.
The residences resemble large pavilions, while the buildings are like cities. Their external shape is round, internally they are square, and their base resembles a lotus.
All Bhavanapati deities are called Kumara because they appear delightful and delicate like a young prince. Their movements are gentle and sweet, and they are playful. The characteristics and forms of the ten types of Bhavanapati deities differ in their inherent qualities according to their respective classes.
