विवेचन-चूर्णिकार ने उत्कीर्तन का अर्थ किया है, उक्कित्तण-गुणवतो थुती-गुणवान पुरुषों का नाम उच्चारण, उनकी स्तुति करना उत्कीर्तन है। इसमें उदाहरण स्वरूप ऋषभ आदि २४ तीर्थंकरों का नामोल्लेख किया है। इसी तरह बारह चक्रवर्ती, कुलकर, गणधर आदि किसी गुणवान पुरुष का नामोत्कीर्तन किया जा सकता है। ___Elaboration The commentator (Churni) has interpreted Ukkittana as gunavato thuti, which means chanting names of virtuous individuals or to recite panegyrics for them.
