You are learned, experienced and scholarly; you have visited many towns and villages, and palaces and mansions of kings, princes and others. As such, if you have any knowledge of some concoction of
powders, combination of Mantras, process of sorcery, method of bewitching, 5 inspiring physical attraction, ritual of exorcising, method of hypnotizing, S P process of anointing to cause a spell, use of magical ash made potent by incantation, or use of medicines and drugs like thorns, roots, bark, creeper,
grass, pill, or mixture, please tell me so that I may once again gain favour & 5 and love of Tetaliputra." र सूत्र २६ : तए णं ताओ अज्जाओ पोट्टिलाए एवं वुत्ताओ समाणीओ दो वि कन्ने ठाइंति, हा र ठाइत्ता पोट्टिलं एवं वयासी-"अम्हे णं देवाणुप्पिया ! समणीओ निग्गंथीओ जावद 15 गुत्तबंभचारिणीओ, नो खलु कप्पइ अम्हं एयप्पयारं कन्नेहि वि निसामेत्तए, किमंग पुणड
र उवदिसित्तए वा, आयरित्तए वा ? अम्हे णं तव देवाणुप्पिया ! विचित्तं केवलिपन्नत्तं धम्मंट 15 परिकहिज्जामो।"
सूत्र २६ : पोट्टिला के इस कथन पर साध्वियों ने अपने दोनों कान बन्द कर लिये और कहा-ट 5 "देवानुप्रिये ! हम निर्ग्रन्थ श्रमणियाँ हैं, गुप्त ब्रह्मचारिणी हैं, अतः ऐसी बातें हमारे कानों में पड़ना ड 15 भी हमें नहीं कल्पता। इस विषय का उपदेश देना अथवा ऐसा आचरण करना हमारे लिए कैसे
र संभव हो सकता है ? हाँ, देवानुप्रिये ! हम तुम्हें केवली द्वारा प्ररूपित अद्भुत धर्म का उपदेश भली 2 5 प्रकार से अवश्य दे सकती हैं।" । 15 26. At this outburst from Pottila the Sadhvi-s closed their ears with their
