According to the commentator (Vritti) nitya agrapind means "the portion of the food that is kept separate for donation immediately on cooking; the first portion."
Samaggiyam-entirety; in the words of the commentator (Vritti)— "This acceptance of food avoiding all the faults of origin, production, exploration, collection, quantity, fire, smoke etc. is accomplished through the conduct related to knowledge and an evidence of perfection in conduct related to perception, behaviour, austerities and potency." According to the commentator (Churni) avoiding such faults related to food leads to perfection in alms seeking and gradually in other virtues.
