१३१. अह पुणेवं जाणेज्जा चत्तारि मासा वासाणं वीतिक्ता, हेमंताण य पंच-दस-रायकप्पे परिवुसिते अंतरा से मग्गा अप्पंडा जाव संताणगा, बहवे जत्थ समण जाव उवागमिस्संति य। सेवं णच्चा तओ संजयामेव गामाणुगामं दूइज्जेज्जा।
१३१. यदि साधु-साध्वी यह जाने कि चातुर्मास व्यतीत होने पर हेमन्त ऋतु के १५ दिन भी व्यतीत हो गये हैं। अब मार्ग हरियाली, अण्डा आदि से रहित आवागमन के योग्य हो गया है। अन्य अनेक शाक्यादि भिक्षु भी आने लगे हैं, तो यह जानकर मुनि वहाँ से यतनापूर्वक ग्रामानुग्राम विहार कर सकता है।
131. When the bhikshu or bhikshuni finds that after the end of the monsoon season a fortnight of the winter season has also passed; the path is now free of vegetation, eggs etc. and suitable for movement; and numerous Buddhist and other mendicants have also started moving around; he can resume his careful itinerant way.
विवेचन-मुनि वर्षावास के चार मास तक एक स्थान पर स्थिर रहता है। चातुर्मास समाप्त होने पर कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के पश्चात् मार्गशीर्ष कृष्णा प्रतिपदा को विहार कर देना चाहिए यह सामान्य नियम है। किन्तु यदि कार्तिक मास में वर्षा हो जाने पर कीचड़ होने से रास्ता चलने योग्य न हो तो अधिक से अधिक पाँच-दस रात्रि वहाँ और रह सकता है। चूर्णिकार तथा आचार्य श्री आत्माराम जी म. के मतानुसार १५ अहोरात्रि तक उसी स्थान पर रह सकता है। (हिन्दी टीका, पृ. १०६५)
Elaboration-Ascetics stay at one place during the four months of monsoon season. At the end of the four month period on the Kartik Purnima he should leave the place on the first day of the dark fortnight of the month of Margsheersh. That is the normal rule. However, if it rains even in the Kartik month and the roads are not passable due to slime, he may extend his stay for a maximum period of five to ten days. According to the commentator (Churni) and Acharya Shri Atmaramji M. he may extend his stay there up to a fortnight. (Hindi Tika p. 1065)
