વિષયસુખ ઇચ્છનારાઓની ભૂલ બતાવી યતિઓ તેનાથી વિમુખ હોય છે તે કહે છે –
શ્લોક-૧૮
क्षुधातृषाकामविकाररोषहेतुश्च तद्भेषजवद्वदन्ति । तदस्वतन्त्रं क्षणिकं . प्रयासकृत्, यतीश्वरा दूरतरं त्यजन्ति ।। 2182zorilask noga સુધા, તૃષા, કામવિકાર, ક્રોધ એનો થતો ભોગ થકી નિરોધ; હા, કિંતુ એ તો ક્ષણમાત્ર ચાલે, એ પાતંત્ર્ય મુનિઓ ન મહાલે.
Root causes for instincts of hunger and thirst," And passions like anger and instinct for lust, Such worldly objects that always do allure, And fan inner fires, are deemed as a cure By beings blindfolded and bound by ignorance; But supreme sages shun them from a distance,
Knowing that they are contingent, transient, · And are on human endeavour dependant.
