સંસારમાં દરેક પ્રાણી સુખ મેળવવા જે પ્રયત્ન કરે છે તે નિષ્ફળ છે –
બ્લોક-૧૬
सर्वत्र सर्वस्य . सदा प्रवृत्ति१ःखस्य नाशाय सुखस्य हेतोः । तथापि दुःखं न विनाशमेति, सुखं न कस्यापि भजेत् स्थिरत्वम् ।।
દુઃખો નિવારી સુખ પામવાનો, હંમેશનો ઉદ્યમ છે બધાનો; દુઃખો ન તોયે ટળતાં જરીએ, સુખોય ના સ્થિર રહે કદીએ.
Always, everywhere, all activity, And all endeavour of humanity, Is for destruction of worldly distress, And for the purpose of gaining happiness. Yet, it is seen that there is no end, To unhappiness found around every bend, No one, anywhere, is ever able To obtain happiness lasting and stable,
