હૃદયપ્રદીપ પ્રમાણે - સદ્ગુરુના સમાગમ વડે પ્રાણીઓ સત્ય પદાર્થોનું
સ્વરૂપ વિચારી તેનું વારંવાર મનન કર્યા કરે છે, તેથી અનુભવજ્ઞાન પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે કે જે અનુભવજ્ઞાન દ્વારા તેઓ જલદી સિદ્ધિપદને પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે. પણ ઉપર કહેલાથી વિપરીત અન્ય પ્રાણીને સિદ્ધિપદ પ્રાપ્ત થતું નથી. ઊલટું જેમ નવા તાવવાળાને દૂધપ્રમુખ પદાર્થો અતિ ઉત્તમ છતાં પણ સનિપાત દ્વારા શીઘ્ર મરણને આપે છે, તેમ વૈરાગ્ય વિના અયોગ્યતાએ મેળવેલું જ્ઞાન પણ અનંતા જન્મ-મરણને આપે છે. આ હેતુથી જ શાસ્ત્રકારે અનુક્રમે આગમોનું જ્ઞાન આપવાનું કહ્યું છે. Explanation - This verse spells out the three most important preconditions for 'self-realization' : (1) true detachment, (2) true guide and (3) iron resolve.
Self-realization' is impossible without total mental detachment from all other substances' except one's self-substance.
The guidance of one who is himself a knower of the real truth' and is thus a 'true guru', is also essential.
Firm determination based on "true experience of the 'self', prevents one's deviation from the right path.
