He is a Padam Bhushan awardee and is the originator of exploring the use of excimer laser for the medical use which is now commonly used for lasik surgery for the eyes to correct the vision. The author has also presented a paper indicating a need to explore General System Theory and Indian philosophy for better understanding of the issue of consciousness and soul.
