The Apabhramsa Passages From SP
For चक्कोडिया compare चक्कोडा अग्निभेदः (Desinamamala, III 2) The metre is to be identified as Dohā. 26. The illustration of Neyārtha becoming Guņa in Prabelikā (ŚP. p. 348). The printed text is as follows:
मोरुकलावेजंपहइतहणामहसरिणाउ । ऊसीसापाअंति कूअगुणत्तिहिमणिणाउ ॥
The same verse occurs in the same context in the SK. (P.94). The text given there is as under :
मोरु कलावेण वहइ तह णामह सरिणाउ । उस्सीसा पाअन्तिगओ अणुणतिहि जणु णाउ ॥
Ratnesvara gives in his commentary on this verse अणुणेतिअ for अणुणत्तिहि and जिअनाउ and जिणणाउ for जणु णाउ as variant readings.
The verse may be restored as follows:
मोरु कलावे जं वहइ तह णामह सरि-णाउ । ऊसीसा पाति गउ अणुणेतिहि जि ण णाउ ॥
The Sanskrit chāya :
मयूरः कलापे यद् वहति तस्य नाम्नः सदृश-नामा। उच्छीर्षात् पादान्ते ( = पादान्तम्) गतः अनुनयन्त्या एव न ज्ञातम् ॥
The metre is to be identified as Dohā.
27. The illustration of Bhasacitra (SP. p. 352).
The first part in each of the four lines of the verse is in 'vulgar' tongue. It contains dialect words mixed with Apabhramóa. The same illustration occurs in the SK (p. 110). Ratnesvara has explained the verse in detail and he has also given some variant readings. The correct text of the Bhāsā portions seems to be as follows:
हा तो जोज्जलदेउ...( = एषः सः जोज्जलदेवः) ता कि दीसइ सच्चिमा... (तावत् किं दृश्यते सत्यः) पच्छा ऐ किअलेउ (पश्चात् एष कृत...(?)) ऐसे सच्च जि बोल्लु (एवम् सत्यम् एव ब्रूहि)
