Capter XIV Prakrit Verses In Alankaramahodadhi
Narendraprabha Sūri composed his Alankāramahodadhi,' a work on Sanskrit poetics in the first half of the thirteenth century A.D.. This work quotes over 75 Prakrit verses to illustrate the various points of poetics. As the work is of the nature of a compilation, the various illustrations are as a rule, drawn from the earlier works on poetics Dhvanyaloka, Sarasvatikanthābharana, Kavyaprakāśa Kā vyānu-sāsana (of Ācārya Hemacandra) and the like, and not necessarily directly from the original sources. The learned editor has, generally speaking, very carefully presented the text of these (Prakrit) verses and indicated in an appendix their primary or secondary sources, wherever possible.
