'Vyañjana'
613 to study all these references carefully and will try to find its sense or senses in their various occurrences.
'vyajyante' : occurs at Rv. I. 64.4 - "citrairañjibhirvapușe vyañjate vákṣaḥsu rukám ádhi yetire śubhé, amseșveşām ni'mimộkşur çstáyaḥ sākám jajñire svadháyā divó náraḥ." vyañjate = vyaktam kurvanti, alamkurvantītyarthaḥ, Sāyaṇa;
i.e. bring to light, cause to appear, display, reveal, decorate, and añjibhiḥ is explained by Sāyana as “rūpābhi-vyañjana-samarthaihābharanaih" Griffith explains as, "they deck"; 'añjibhiḥ' as 'glittering ornaments'.
Rv. VII. 79.2 vyañjate divó antesvaktū’nviśona yuktă uşáso yatante, sám te gå vastáma á vartayanti jyotiryacchanti savitéva bāhu. Sāyaṇa explains as 'vyaktikurvanti'. i.e. cause to appear, reveal, etc. Griffith - 'paint' (= anoint) Rv. IX 86.43 is the same as seen above.(see añjate); Sāyaṇa-añjate = vividham añjanti, and samañjate = samyag añjanti; = anoint, well anoint; Griffith - 'balm' - (i.e. anoint). vyajyate - Rv. X. 85.28; “nīlalohitam bhavati krtyásaktir vyajyate, édhante sayā jñātayaḥ pátirbandhésa badhyate." vyajyate = tyajyate, Sāyaṇa; = driven off, Griffith;
The root here is Vvi+aj and not Vvi+añj. It should be noted that this is the same as Av. XIV 1.26.
Whitney observes that the root is Vvi+aj. Rv. IX. 71.7 : reads as, "párā vyakto aruşó diváḥ kavivřsā triprsthó anavista gá abhi, sahásraņītiryátiḥ parāyáti rebhóna pūrviruşáso vi rājati."
