Mahārasa! (Superior mineral) as mentioned in the Jaina alchemicai ... works-the Suvarņa Raupya Siddhi-Sāstra and Rasaratna Samuccaya, viz.,
abhrak2 (mica), Vaikrānta3 (tourmalihe), mäkiska* (Pyrites), amala5 (Vimala) a kind of silvery pyrtie, silāgitab (or adrija)? (bitumen), sasyaka8 (blue vitriol= Thutho), Capala10 (Rossibly bismuth) and Rasaka!! (minural CalamineKharpara12) are to be indentified and collected with the corroborative evidences of other Indian alchemical works.
Maharasas (Superior minirals) Abhraka12 (Mica) Abhraka (mica) is one of the Mahā-Rasas (Superior minerals) which was used in Jaina Alchemy in both chemical processes13 and Indian medical science as an element of medicine. 14 IN the Rasārņava and Rasáratnasamuccaya of Vaghbat there is mention of four kinds of mica, viz. Pināka, Dardukra, (Maņņuka), Naga and Vajra, 15 There can be four divisions of each of them. 16 1. Rasaratnasamuccaya, Manikyadevasūri
