जिन शासन का एक बहु प्रचलित एवं गंभीर अर्थ वाला शब्द है: Amost common and profound meant word in Jainism is pratikramana. Its प्रतिक्रमण, इसका अर्थ है वापस लौटना. इसे समझने से पूर्व आक्रमण | meaning is returning back. It will be much better to understand the word शब्द को समझ लेना ज्यादा उचित होगा. आक्रमण का अर्थ है हमला. | akramanabefore understandingit. The meaning ofakramanais to attack. In our जीवन के व्यवहार में हम सदा आक्रमणशील बने रहते हैं, यह आक्रमण | daily life we are always aggressive. This attack is made in two ways दो तरह से होता है- १. मन का बाह्य भावों के प्रति आक्रमण और |--1.attack of mind towards exterior objects and 2.attack of exterior emotions २. बाह्य भावों का आत्मा के प्रति आक्रमण,
towards the soul. मानव ने भौतिक पदार्थों में ही पूर्ण सुख की कल्पना कर रखी है, Man has imagined complete happiness in physical materials only, as a result परिणामतः वह अपनी आत्मा के वास्तविक सुख से कहीं दूर हट गया | he has gone far away form real happiness ofhis soul and he has gone astray in है और वह भटक गया है काल्पनिक सुखों के जंगल में, बाह्य सुखों | the forestof imaginaryhappiness. Due to thisaggressive humannature towards के प्रति मानव के इस आक्रमणशील स्वभाव के कारण उसकी आत्मा | exterior happiness, ahuge burden of karmas is increasing over the soulday by के उपर कर्मों का भारी बोझ दिन प्रति दिन बढ़ता रहता है और आत्मा | day and when the soul is suppressed under the force of these karmas, then no जब इन कर्मों के भार के नीचे दब जाती है तो उसे बाहर निकालने | one is found to remove him out. वाला कोई नहीं मिलता.
इस बाहरी आक्रमण से मानव को अपनी आत्मा में पुनः लौटाने वाली| pratikramana is the rite taking back the man into his soul from these outer क्रिया है प्रतिक्रमण. आप देखते होंगे, शाम ढलते ढलते ही पंछी अपने | attacks.Youwill benoticing the birdsreturning back totheirnests as the evening घोंसले में पुनः लौट आते हैं. दिन भर वे भटकते हैं, किन्तु शाम को | declines. Whole day they wander, but they will surely return back in the evening.
