16. It was favourable company of friends that enabled Sanjay, the mighty King of Mithila, to enjoy his vast empire and attain divine planes of existence hereafter.
अरुणेण महासालपुत्तेण अरहता इसिणा बुइतं। ऐसा अर्हत् महाशाल-पुत्र अरुण ऋषि बोलेMahashal's son, enlightened Arun, the seer, further added :
सम्मत्तं च अहिंसं च, सम्मं णच्चा जितिन्दिए।
कल्लाणमित्तसंसग्गिं, सदा कुव्वेज्ज पण्डिए।।17।। 17. जितेन्द्रिय और प्रज्ञाशील मुमुक्षु सम्यक्त्व और अहिंसा का सम्यक् प्रकार से ज्ञान प्राप्त कर सर्वदा कल्याणकारी मित्र का संसर्ग करे।
17. An austere and wise aspirant should master equanimity and non-violence and stay in the company of the noble ones.
एवं से सिद्ध बुद्धे विरते विपावे दन्ते दविए अलं ताई णो पुणरवि इच्चत्थं हव्वमागच्छति त्ति बेमि।
अरुणिज्जनाममज्झयणं तेत्तीसइमं।
इस प्रकार वह सिद्ध, बुद्ध, विरत, निष्पाप, जितेन्द्रिय, वीतराग एवं पूर्ण त्यागी बनता है और भविष्य में पुनः इस संसार में नहीं आता है।
ऐसा मैं (अर्हत् महाशालपुत्र अरुण ऋषि) कहता हूँ। ____This is the means, then, for an aspirant to attain purity, enlightenment, piety, abstinence and non-attachment. Such a being is freed of the chain of reincarnations.
Thus I (Mahashal's son Arun, the seer) do pronounce. अरुण नामक तैंतीसवाँ अध्ययन पूर्ण हुआ।331
