2. One escaping urge and inquisitiveness, spontaneously, owing to spiritual indolence also earns happiness. But one who consciously and deservedly earns it does truly so.
आलस्सं त् परिणाए, जाती-मरण-बंधणं।
उत्तिमट्टवरग्गाही, वीरियातो परिव्वए।।3।। 3. जन्म-मरण के बन्धन के रूप में प्रमाद परिज्ञात (विख्यात) है। अतः मुमुक्षु सर्वोत्तम परमार्थतत्त्व अथवा संयम को ग्रहण करे और आत्मबल को पूर्णरूप से जागृत (प्रकट) करे।
3. Spiritual indolence generates reincarnation. That enjoins upon the aspirant to doggedly practice spiritualism and asceticism to realise his true potential.
कामं अकामकामो, . अत्तत्ताए परिव्वए। सावज्जं णिरवज्जेणं, परिण्णाए परिव्वएज्जासि त्ति।।4।।
4. काम को अकाम बनाकर अर्थात् वासनाओं पर विजय प्राप्त कर आत्मा का रक्षण करता हुआ विचरण करे। निरवद्य के माध्यम से ज्ञानपूर्वक सावध का प्रत्याख्यान करता हुआ विचरण करे।
4. Let one smother all urges and desires to lend strength to human soul. The sinful urges be so manipulated that all end in the practice of totally sinfree state.
एवं से सिद्ध बुद्धे विरते विपावे दन्ते दविए अलं ताई णो पुणरवि इच्चत्थं हव्वमागच्छति त्ति बेमि।
सत्तमं कुम्मापुत्तनामज्झयणं।
इस प्रकार वह सिद्ध, बुद्ध, विरत, निष्पाप, जितेन्द्रिय, वीतराग एवं पूर्ण त्यागी बनता है और भविष्य में पुनः इस संसार में नहीं आता है।
ऐसा मैं (अर्हत् कूर्मापुत्र ऋषि) कहता हूँ।
This is the means, then, for an aspirant to attain purity, enlightenment, emancipation, piety, abstinence and nonattachment. Such a being is freed of the chain of reincarnations.
Thus I, Kurmaputra, the seer, do pronounce. कूर्मापुत्र नामक सातवां अध्ययन पूर्ण हुआ।7।
