While doing his duties as a librariau Mr. Dalal also worked for some years as assistant press reporter until that branch was removed from the Library Department. Later on Mr. Dalal was placed in full charge of the Sanskrit Section of the Central Library and it was then that his lite's main work began and took a permanent sbape. ... At that tiine the Sanskrit Section of the Library was reing organised on a large scale with the idea of making it a unique collection of Sanskrit Literature in Gujarat. What the the Deccan College Sanskrit Collection of printed books and manuscripts is to the Deccani, this Central Library Collection was inteuded to be for the whole of Gujarat. With this view all the available privted Sanskrit books were being purchased and Sanskrit matuscripts were being searcbcd for all over India and collected iu ile Ce tral Library. For the search of mapuscripts an expert ManuscriptCollector of 20 year's experience Mr. R. Anant Krishna Shastry was engaged in the service and with bis aid within two years the Sauskrit section began to grow into a decent collection.
