ઉપરના ત્રણેય વાક્યો જવાની ક્રિયા બતાવે છે તો પણ પ્રત્યેક વાક્યમાં ક્રિયાપદનું રૂપ ભિન્ન ભિન્ન છે. પ્રથમ વાક્યમાં ક્રિયાનો કર્તા પ્રથમ પુરુષ છે, બીજા વાક્યમાં ક્રિયાનો કર્તા બીજો પુરુષ છે, છેલ્લા વાક્યમાં ક્રિયાનો કર્તા ત્રીજો પુરુષ છે. પુરુષ પ્રમાણે ક્રિયાપદનું પણ રૂપ બદલાય છે. ટૂંકમાં ક્રિયાપદ કર્તાના વચનને અનુસરે છે.
हं गच्छामि
तुं गच्छि
सो गच्छइ
પ્રાકૃતભાષામાં સંસ્કૃતની જેમ ક્રિયાપદના ત્રણ પુરુષ છે, પરન્તુ વચન બે જ છે ઃ એકવચન અને બહુવચન જ્યારે દ્વિવચનનો અર્થ સૂચવવો હોય ત્યારે ક્રિયાપદ બહુવચનમાં જ વાપરવું. પણ તે વાક્યમાં દ્વિવચન સૂચક તો શબ્દ નામની સાથે વપરાય છે.
દા.ત. બન્ને વોળિ વહેમુ અમે બે ચાલીએ છીએ.
In all the above three sentences, the action on shown is same i.e. going but in each sentence, the form of a verb is different. In the first sentence, the doer or the subject of the verb is first person. In the second sentence, the subject is in 2nd person. In the 3rd Sentence, the subject is in 3rd person. The form of the verb changes according to the Person. In short the verb follows the number case of the subject or the doer. Like Sanskrit, there are three Persons of verb in Prakrit, but the numbers are only two - Singular and Plural.

Wherever, the plural number is to be shown - the verb should always be in plural, but in that sentence - the ‘i' word i.e. 'two' is used along with the noun. e.g.:- ગમ્યું નોળિ ચહેમુ We two are walking.
