राजस्थान विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा सन् 1961 में पीएच. डी. की उपाधि के लिए स्वीकृत शोध प्रबन्ध Ethical Doctrines in Jainism' पुस्तक रूप में सन् 1967 में डॉ. ए. एन. उपाध्ये और डॉ. हीरालाल जैन की देख-रेख में जीवराज जैन ग्रंथमाला, सोलापुर से प्रकाशित हुआ। इसका दूसरा संस्करण सन् 2001 में प्रकाशित है।
यह पुस्तक विदेशों में, पूर्वी व दक्षिणी भारत में अध्ययनार्थ अत्यधिक रूप से प्रयोग में आई। लगभग 43 वर्ष तक अंग्रेजी जगत के अध्ययनार्थियों ने इसका भरपूर उपयोग किया।
डॉ. ए. एन. उपाध्ये लिखते हैं- "The Dharmāmrta of Ašādhara (1240A.D.) is perhaps a fine attempt to propound the twofold discipline in one unit. The Jaina literature abounds in treatises dealing with the life of a monk, and for a handy survey of which one can consult the History of Jaina Monachism by S. B. Deo (Deccan College, Poona 1956). A Critica! and historical study of the discipline prescribed for a householder is found in that excellent monograph, the Jaina Yoga by R. Williams (Oxford University Press, Oxford 1963). In the present volume (1967) Dr. K. C. Sogani has attempted an admirable survey of the entire range of the ethical doctrines in jainism . He has given us an exhaustive
