With reference to your memorial to His Exellency the Viceroy and Governer General of India, dated the 2nd September 1919, praying that a seat in the Imperial Legis Lative council may be reserved for a member of the Jain Community, I am directed to inform you that a Number of seats have been reserved for the representativn of minorities by nomination and that in allotting them the claims of the important Jain Community will receive full consideration.
